Welcome Weekend

It's been such a busy week for me with conferences so I apologize for not keeping up my blog.  I'll be back to it next week so be sure to keep an eye on it daily.  We had a fun Valentines "It's Not a Party" party.  Thanks to those who brought in snacks to share.  And a huge thanks to all you wonderful 5th graders for all the treats you bestowed upon me.  I truly feel loved!
We are just about finished studying Russia and will jump right into Japan mid-week next week.  I've gone easy on the homework because of science fair, but know that it'll get back to business after next week.  The science fair is on March 1st and all 5th graders are expected to be there.  I am looking forward to seeing all the great projects!
Next week plan for a math test right away on ratios (probably Tuesday afternoon after a morning review) and also a small test on Russia.  We are learning about cells and will have group projects with that.  Speaking of groups, the literature circles this week went great and I hope to do them more often.  Everyone cooperated so well.
Spring is in the air...I feel it!  Enjoy a beautiful weekend!
Love, Mrs Cardinal
